Hadrian Bowl, 2025

$195.00

By Cristina Doyle
Hand made stoneware with glaze
21 wide x 10cm high

This bowl is one of five individually handmade, hand painted pieces, so each carries a natural irregularity and unique character. Each bowl is decorated with underglaze and then finished with a clear glaze, making it suitable for everyday food use. Loosely inspired by the idea of having been used at a Roman banquet, every bowl is named after a Roman statesman. The surfaces are painted with a speckled finish, which gives them an unexpectedly fine, gritty texture. Picture a table laid with these boldly painted ceramics, heaped with Italian dishes and framed by lively conversation.
