Sunset Boulevard, 2024

A tall, narrow work that seeks to catch the moment the sky lifts and gathers itself just before it slips below my balcony in Daylesford. Built from a warm palette of sunset — yellow, orange, red — with a scattering of blue, the piece uses layered colour and drawn lines to suggest clouds in motion. Vertical format and sweeping gestures create a sense of ascent and imminent descent, inviting the viewer to feel that brief elevation of light and air before evening takes over.
